I spent two semesters strategizing, designing, and executing content for the Kernodle Center for Civic Life

I always enjoy reflecting on my two semesters of work at the Kernodle Center for Civic Life. Not only was it incredibly satisfying work, but I realized that my motivations are driven by a desire to give back to my community.

"Alternative Breaks are immersive service experiences designed to introduce students to new communities while working to address pressing domestic and global social issues. Participating in an Alternative Break is a great way to get to know other students, make a positive impact, and have a meaningful spring break!"

Not only did I learn how to brainstorm a constant flow of content calendars, I also learned how to make content respectfully and with purpose.

"Every year, our chapter sponsors the construction of a house in Burlington. Students are encouraged to volunteer at the build site to get hands-on experience in community building. Some examples of build-site tasks include putting up walls, painting, roofing, and more. No building/construction experience is necessary."
